Coming to FutureQuake 24, this issues featured coverstrip is WRITE MAN FOR THE JOB by Buster Willoughby and Mauro Lirussi. This is one of the most bizarre strips we have ever run, but it is totally worth it.

Knock Knock is one of those rare gifts here at FQP- a strip that arrives fully formed. All this needed was a new lettering job and it was good to go. Whe you read the strip, you'll see why!

Written by the returning team of writers BJ Fox and Chris Godfree and artist Johnny Hoang,  (Like Mother, Like Daugher- SW06) Knock Knock is scheduled to appear in FQ24- on sale in November.

Something Wicked 09 is very proud to bring you BEYOND THE HALL OF THE AUROCH by Michael DeShane and Onofrio Cirillo. This is the lead strip for the issue and as such will feature on the cover. When you read the strip, you'll understand why I thought it was strong enough to lead with.

In Review: SAVANT

SAVANT is the new title from Planet Jimbot, and writer Jim Alexander was good enough to send me a copy over for review.

Written by Jim Alexander, with art by Will Pickering and Fin Cramb and letters by the inimitable Jim Campbell, SAVANT is a the opening chapter in a 6 part story set in a very interesting world. Lode is a wandering empath, trawling the planet Hubris in search of experiences to sample before returning to her home. Think walkabout and you'll be in the right ballpark.

 Lobe is contacted with a view to helping apprehend Trigo, a rather well connected war criminal by the local government. The rest of the issue chronicles the beginnings of her journey.

 The story has a lovely 'solid' feel to it. Even the parts that don't quite gel on first read have a very well realised air to them. This is in no small way aided by the art by Will Pickering. Will drew two strips for FQP (Star Polishers in FQ17 and Social Engagement eXperiment in FQ18) and the art here is even stronger. He has a very European feel to his storytelling, which is further enhanced by Fin Crambs luscious colour work. The whole package is finished by Jim Campbell and I'm sure very few reading this will need reminding how good he is at his job.

The Phab Firewalk- Bolt-01 needs you!

On September 21st, I'll be taking part in a firewalk to help raise money for a wonderful charity. PHAB take disabled and disadvantaged children from all across the region and provide them with an amazing holiday, full of fun, memories and valuable learning experiences.

As you can imagine, times are tough for charities all over, so I feel it's time I did my best to give something back.
